As we continue to celebrate our 75th Anniversary, we will be highlighting some of the leaders who have helped make ACPA so successful.  This month we are highlighting Howard Aduss.

Name: Howard Aduss

Location: Chicago, IL  60610

Current Title: Professor of Orthodontics, The Craniofacial Center, Department of Surgery, University of Illinois College of Medicine

Service with ACPA:
  • 1967 - Treasurer ACPA
  • 1969 - ’72  Executive Council
  • 1972 - ’74 Vice-President ACPA
  • 1974 - Program Chair ACPA
  • 1975 -’76  President ACPA
  • 1991 - ’92 Chair, Long Range Planning Committee

Three words I use to describe ACPA: Important, necessary, educational

What I gained from ACPA: I learned to “listen and learn”.  As a result, I became a better clinician in my own specialty.

Over the next 75 years, I wish: Continue to stress inter-disciplinary treatment.

My advice for current ACPA leadership: Listen and learn from your associates.

I felt like I was involved with ACPA “forever”.  It was part of my professional life.   What I always admired was “how smart and dedicated my colleagues were”.
