Born in Macon, MO. Majored in Biology at the University of Missouri and in 1986 received DDS from the UMKC School of Dentistry. Graduated from a hospital based General Practice Residency program, training in all dental specialty areas but particularly in oral surgery, anesthesia and periodontics. After 10 years of general dentistry practice, received Certificate in Orthodontics and MS at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 2000. The residency included Ohio State’s Dentofacial Deformities surgical program and also the Craniofacial Clinic at Columbus Nationwide Children's Hospital. Published research in the American Journal of Orthodontics on assessing orthodontic treatment need. As Chief of Orthodontics, RAF Lakenheath, UK, member of the cleft palate and craniofacial deformities teams. As Chief of Orthodontics, US Air Force Academy member of the dental implant team, the craniofacial deformities board and a faculty member for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program. Retired as a Colonel from the Air Force in 2007 and maintains a private orthodontic practice in Colorado Springs. Military experience included acting as CENTAF Forward Dental Surgeon, OPERATION Desert Storm and hospital commander Al Udeid AirBase, OPERATION Enduring Freedom. On the clinical faculty, CU School of Medicine, Dept of Otolaryngology and on the Cleft Lip & Palate Team Children's Hospital Colorado. Also collaborates with Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery, Evans Army Community Hospital, Ft. Carson on orthognathic surgery patients. Diplomate, American Board of Orthodontics
